Reiki Treatment

Typical Reiki Treatment

What happens during a Reiki treatment? A typical Reiki treatment would be given to a fully clothed client lying on a treatment table. Quiet and soothing background music would enhance the mood of relaxation. The Reiki practitioner would gently place hands on the client's body in a prescribed pattern and allow the Reiki energy to flow through the hands to the person being treated. There is no manipulation of the tissue - just a very light touch. The energy from the practitioner's hands would direct healing energy to the area in need. The client may feel increased heat from the practioner's hands that leads to relaxation and healing. A typical session would be about an hour.

Reiki in Hospice Setting

In the Hospital or Hospice

A Reiki treatment in a hospital or hospice setting would be given while the patient is in their hospital bed or chair. The energy flow is directed to serve the patient's highest good whether it be a recovery, more time with loved ones or a peaceful passing. Many patients have reported having a sense of spiritual connection that had previously been missing. Caregivers can benefit from Reiki as it helps reduce anxiety and stress.
